Located in the famed wintering grounds of the Atlantic Flyway – Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey winter over 600,000 Snow Geese annually. 80% of the Greater Snow Geese on the Atlantic Flyway call these states home.
We lease over 18,000 acres in Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey to ensure quality gunning October thru March. By rotating our gunning over 64 farms, we provide some of the best snow goose hunting on the Atlantic flyway. Our fall hunting is usually in cornfields and spring snow goose hunts are in wheat / barley fields.
Scouting
The most critical part of snow goose hunting is daily scouting. Snow Geese travel in bunches of 1,000-20,000 birds which means they can clean out a field in a day or two. Hence they’re here one day and five miles away the next day.
We scout our farms everyday with three people – one in Delaware, one in Maryland and one in New Jersey. We keep in contact via cell phones to determine which farms would provide the best gunning for the next day. We won’t know until a day or two before your snow goose hunt where we’ll be gunning. Snow goose scouting is very time and gas consuming.
Decoys
90% of successfully hunting snows is scouting and huge spreads of quality decoys. (The other 10% is luck, of course). The days of taking snows with 200 decoys are over. The average age of a snow goose today is 8 years old. A rig of 800 decoys should be the minimum today. We like to use 1000-1200 decoys.
More Guys = More Decoys = More Snows
How We Hunt
All of our snow goose hunting is field hunting on leased farms. We will provide white tyvek coveralls and we will be laying in the decoys on our custom-made padded recliners. Snow goose hunts are generally over 1000-1500 decoys depending on the size of the party. We only ask you bring a face mask.
Summary
We specialize in snow goose hunting. We guarantee the best farms in the area, guarantee huge numbers of the best quality decoys and the guarantee the best guides to be found anywhere. These are the only “guarantees” we give. As you can see in our photo gallery, we harvest a good number of snows each season. That being said, remember- we are hunting wild birds and the wariest of all waterfowl.
